I do feel for the youngsters in the UK now, the written test and the hazard awareness test they have to do. Whilst I agree in principle, hazard awareness takes time and experience. I have tried both online and just scraped through the written test. After that and they are quoted £2k on a £400 car (female, 21 years old). I know the roads are a lot busier now but that is a crazy price, although when another 21 year old female tweets about knocking a cyclist off his bike but ‘he doesn’t pay road tax, so I don’t care’ you can understand a little better.
I agree, they are a good idea as they create (in my view) better flowing traffic although I had to take my driving test in a place called Swindon that has a magic roundabout. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_Roundabout_(Swindon) as an inexperienced driver I was bricking it until my instructor said don’t worry it’s quite new and nobody has a clue about it, just go right through!!
