I’m pretty sure you can still root the device without unlocking. My super locked-down Droid X was still able to be rooted. I used Titanium Backup on it without problems.

Nice job! I would love for that to be the next Nexus. However, I think we may see more than one Nexus this year…at least I hope so.

Not if they want to use CDMA/LTE on Sprint and, arguably the best LTE network around, Verizon.

Yes, the OG Droid. I think it is the epitome of beautiful industrial design. That or the Droid X.

I hate to say it, but this is the reason I sold my Tab 10.1 for an iPad. Google doesn’t seem to be serious about the tablet sector. At least not yet. Maybe they will “double down”…and if they do then I will definitely take a second look. Right now, though, my iPad/GNex combo is working well.

Maybe they had trouble finding the tablet version.(?)

I feel like that’s not really a valid point anymore. On tablets? Sure. But not on phones. Hell, some apps are coming out on Android first now! And other apps have more features on Android, like Rdio.

I think that looks pretty cool.

I’ve always wondered why computer and tablet screens in the future (in movies) are clear/see-through.

…And now that I’ve seen this I still wonder. What is the draw to seeing through the display? Isn’t that distracting?

I like this a lot. It reminds me of the 4-finger swipes on the iPad.
