You do realize that China has the world’s largest population (1,353,821,000 according to Wikipedia) and they do need some way of controling the population amount to make sure it won’t become too crowded.
And besides, being an only child is a good thing, you get to hog all the things you recieve from your parents and not have to share with brothers and sisters all the time.
