I would like to see more pushing of the Google experience even if the essence of Motorola is left there, such as a Lapdock along the lines of the original running Chrome OS

Are you still using it as your daily driver now or have you replaced it with something? I didn’t know that and would easily be able to switch to that on my PC for use on non-uni days. That was the idea I had behind choosing the Flyer because I could use it as a support device that through cloud services would be able to stay constantly accessible through various computers I would be accessing.
So you would not reccomemd it as a cheap tablet? That has been the main thing I have took away from everything I have read about it, the stylus does seem to be really fantastic. I understand with the Honeycomb update that you can use the stylus on everything compared to beforehand where it was only limited to particular areas.
That does seem to be one of the most persuasive parts of the tablet as it seems brilliant at making notes. I wasn’t really pinning my hopes on the recording as had it down as something that is probably very hit and miss, so if I do get one I might test it out but not rely on it.
I think that is something I would be trying to avoid really but maybe is the better proposition if I do decided to go more a long the lines of that. The experience would be an awful lot better and easier as you have described. I may just price up an iPad and those styluses with a keyboard and see what sort of price range it comes out at.
Many thanks for theadvice and insight into your experience with the Flyer and I will certainly take it into account when making my decision in the next few months as to what device I will eventually purchase.

Would the frustration mainly be down to the pen or just the general poor note taking abilities of the device as a whole? I suspected recording would be rarely used, just thought about it due to me being a slow writer so not wanting to miss a thing.
That does sound like it is probably one of the best features of the Flyer and more natural uses of it. Might be one of the crucial factors once I have done more research into possible devices to get.
I probably wouldn’t use it as a replacement to write essays/ papers but more a note taking device and I’m still sort of a buit put off that after learning some more about it.
Thanks for the info on Honeycomb was not too sure after reading conflicting information from places I’d argue I usually see as trusted sources. I’ll bear what you have said in mind over the next few months as will most likely be making my purchase in late August. Thanks for the help and advice. I will probably update here as to what decision I make. Thanks

It wouldn’t be a full on replacement as I’d still be living at home so would have the desktop I’m currently using still in use but just need something mobile to use while I’m on campus.
I thought it had been but wasn’t entirely sure whether that was just the US versions to have gotten it, that and the fact coverage of it seems to have totally vanished due to the lack of popularity for it. The laptop market is a hard one to know well due to the saturation of it. I knew of HotUK Deals but didn’t know there was much tech put on so thanks for making me aware of it. Also thanks for making me aware of PostaBargain I’ll be sure to check it out.
I was aware of that deal but due to the price and my preference for Windows and Google I steered away from them. Yeah probably will happen in competition.
I’ve always seen the Medion computers that Aldi do in the leaflets that they put through the door and I have never been entirely sure on them due to the nature of the store and used that to pass them off as cheap. But I’ll pay more attention to them next few leaflets coming threw and have a look in my local store to get some models to read about online.
That was my only worry really with it being a market as a whole that everybody seems to be moving away from and some of the machines reliability looking a bit sketchy. After seeing you putting it in writting even though I will only be using it as a secondary device I probably will lean more towards a sub-£300 laptop than a netbook.
Not sure why but this might sound stupid I have had a worry about laptops on ebay like someone puts something on there to watch everything I do on (probably encouraged by the suspicion of buying things online in my family). That is a fantastic deal so after hearing about that, it is something I will have to try and fit into my daily cycle of just trying to find something along those lines with it being so cheap and rare.
Thank you very much for the help and I will, I may even once I have got said device do a little post after a couple of months on how it fits into my workflow depending on what it is. You are right about the diverse knowledgeable community it is one of the things that makes The Verge one of my favourite websites. I hope I do too and I hope the experience is worth all the money haha!. Thank you for the help/ advice again.

Not really, they are having to make massive cut backs as it is and especially their sport coverage. I know for some sports like F1 they license certain aspects to Canada like commentary etc.
