The price is OK, but compared to the market it’s entering it’s a bit high. This makes a steam box much more competitive, 500 is enough to make a decent gaming PC. It won’t compete with the Xbox, but the games will be cheaper and it will be able to do a lot more. Not to mention you could buy an Ouya, a Nexus 4 and a library of Android games for the same price, and this is without taking the cost of Live into account. The PS4 will likely undercut this price.
I think it’s undeniable that the One is going to be one of the most expensive ways to game, short of having a very high end PC and buying games at launch (remember, PCs don’t charge for Xbox Live and games get better sales).

I would have to see some real world results on that one, and THD doesn’t count, anyone can make a better GPU if they make their own graphics environment.

Are there enough games on PC to warrant multiple PC models? Different devices will have different abilities, they all share the software library so it’s not a typical console war.

Because they could make fortunes on them. We’ll see, but it’s not like Android is a loser platform.

It doesn’t really work that way, each android device builds the overall platform. It has the play store, so it’s not fragmented, it’s just another device.
Having different Android devices didn’t keep android from wining, and fragmentation was a way bigger issue.

Have you tried putting CM on it? I think the main issues with the devices are software, not hardware.

I get where you’re coming from, but Tegras are kind of bulshit. Sure, they always hit new features first, but then they turn out to be too slow to do anything interesting with, and cut corners.

Well, if you are serious, here’s one way to look at it. First lets add up all users who we can expect prefer AOSP because of their actions. About 5 million CM users and 450 million gmail accounts, so 1% of people are motivated enough to put a Nexus experience on their devices. I prefer gmail accounts because 900 million devices include people with multiple devices and dead devices, and I know before android came out Gmail was no where near as big. Other AOSP roms would add a few more million so lets say 2% of people are motivated enough to put something like stock on their devices. Then we know that there are about 2 million Nexus 4s, which if you do the math since it came out works out to about 1%, so total 3%. Hard to add up all the other nexus phones users, but by all accounts they were less than the the Nexus 4, so lets be generous and add another 1%. So we’re looking at about 4% of people would be directly interested in the Nexus version a device.
A major flaws with that analysis is that many people may have wanted to do Nexus, but either didn’t have the skills to flash it or didn’t want the devices available. Hard to say how big that population is or how many would be interested in the One, but yeah, it would be almost nobody.
Why do you ask?

It implies the user gets the right to sell the game. If you get to sell it, you get to set the price, including $0.
“Supports used games”, if Microsoft sets the price, is more like a lease, where they offer a discount if you end your lease to the new buyer.

You can sell the disk, but you can’t make them make it work.

I doubt it will work that way because that means you and your friends only have to pay $10 to play the game.
