Starcraft 2 has unquestionably the best graphics in the RTS genre? Are you serious? I would take ‘arguably’, but not unquestionably.

I would swear the search is the same one Engadget uses too. Neither one can seem to find articles effectively by either title or content. I have had trouble with the search from the start and it consistently provides to be impossible to get anything I remember. Like others, I resort to using Google and am presented with the article immediately. It is super frustrating, especially because I find the site to be well organized in general.

You can utilize things like Photoshop’s really powerful “Actions” feature to cut down on the repeated action problem. I find a lot of users that utilize Photoshop manage to get themselves in a rut of thinking that the way they are doing things is the best way; however, PS allows many different strategies to tackle the same problems, and with a tight Action set helping you along with automating complex jobs, it never seems to be too tedious to do things for me; even photo restoration, which can be a long process, can be simplified and shortened. That said, I don’t know of any photo-manipulation software that has the ease-of-use features of Photoshop with a comparably simple UI. Maya’s interface may be intuitive, but I don’t think anyone would claim it to be simple, either. For a simple UI, I think you would need to look in a different direction to more hobby-based programs, where professional understanding bows down to simpler operation.
Still, Photoshop has an incredibly well-organized menu structure, and if you can’t find the operation you want to utilize on a selected object, selection, or etc. It is normally in the nested menu that a quick right-click will summon. Besides that, the UI is incredibly flexible, with pretty much everything key-bindable in the preferences. With how you can save your workspaces and create specialized ones for certain types of work, I’d hardly consider Photoshop anything BUT rewarding when you master the preferences.

That’s a little harsh, ahaha. I don’t suggest they fire him, I just think they’re really going out on a limb for this zany idea and I’d really like to see Paul be pushed on this job, because it has a lot of potential that might get overlooked if he treats it like a sparingly updated live journal. I think a lot of people have trouble because they don’t think he’s the right man for the job. I disagree with that assertion. I just don’t think he has been made to write like this a whole lot and needs a push to get his work to be as informative and interesting as other people’s journeying into madness. His perspective matters a lot on this because, as I said, I could just be reading a twitter of a random person and get similar results. What makes Paul tick and the context of this is ultimately going to determine if this is an enjoyable series or The Verge’s first onsite Facebook timeline.

I think you make a great point about the significance of some of the steps he is taking. I concede that one would likely have to change their daily motions and even consider their habits to fit their new anti-internet stance, but the changes seem to have unlikely effect if substitution takes place of self-reflection on why he does what he does anyways. I want self-reflection; like it or not, this piece is about Paul and if he’s feeling things like you describe, I’d like to hear about them more, maybe with a little context. In the conversation he has with his roommate, I sense Paul trying to get through, but it’s somehow not valuable because I have no context to the situation or even what Paul considers a typical conversation. I realize this is not your point, though. Also, I’m glad you could derive a lot of this from his changes. Honestly though, I want to hear more about these internal struggles from Paul himself in the future, not just derived from anecdote or personally from a commenter. You concede yourself what you believe to be his reasoning for this, but do so in a vaguely uncertain way – it’s not something spelled out exactly. This is kinda my problem with the whole thing, everything written on this so far kinda stinks with uncertainty or vagueness when the conditions would be more powerful if Paul just expounded a little more and maybe had media to help sell his point home.
