The 100 million doesn’t include volume licenses sold, and Microsoft doesn’t book licenses sold to OEMs until the hardware ships.
In FY13 Q3, Microsoft had almost $10 billion in unearned revenue, which comes from deals like long-term contracts with OEMs. Revenue like this doesn’t get recognized until after the hardware ships.

Google is already incredibly wealthy, there’s no way that Microsoft is going to survive without building a good ecosystem to replace Google’s.
Bwahahaha! Do you know what’s the first thing that gets cut in corporate spending when there’s a recession? It’s advertising. Google’s business, even today, is in a far more precarious position than Microsoft’s.

Legacy windows isn’t a factor going into the future. That’s not where Google’s customers lie.
Google’s customers are ADVERTISERS. People like you, me, and others that post on The Verge ARE NOT Google’s customers. They are the eyeballs. Google does a disservice to its customers by not maximizing the number of eyeballs.
Of course, I don’t give a flying fuck what Google does. About the only Google service I use regularly is YouTube, and I can get that through a browser.

It comes with a 500GB HDD, which means that it can be replaced with an SSD—a real one and not some soldered on bullshit that most Ultrabooks come with these days. Replacing the HDD should increase the battery life.

It was 3x the power and 5x less power draw (i.e. 80% less) than the CURRENT Atom architecture. The other figures are how the specs compare to ARM SoCs.

Nonsense. Anything beyond 8 hours of battery life is getting into edge cases IMO. The “key” is improving performance. I’ll even give up some of the battery life of current Atom processors for more power.

Cool story, bro.

$280 million net income is a rounding error for Intel. If anybody is making money off ARM SoCs, it isn’t ARM Holdings.

How does this get a 5 for performance when both the Surface RT and VivoTab RT got 7s for performance? All three of these devices have the same processor and memory. This is on TOP of the 0.6 points that you subtracted from the overall score for no apparent reason whatsoever.

Apparently, math hates you too. You gave it a 6.8 when the average of all the individual scores is 7.4.

The average score of the individual categories is ~7.4 (59 / 8 = 7.375). You gave the overall score of 6.8. You docked it over half a point for what reason?

If you need the UI of your phone’s settings to be more exciting, I suggest that you get out of the house and go do something with your life. And leave your phone at home while you’re at it.

The Galaxy S II went on sale several months after that notice was given in 2011, however, resulting in today’s action. Cupertino was not successful in making the same argument in connection with Infuse 4G damages, however.
Awkwaaaard. However, it can be improved rather easily like so:
As it turns out, the Galaxy S II had gone on sale several months after that notice was given in 2011, resulting in today’s action. By contrast, the plaintiff* was not successful in making the same argument in connection with Infuse 4G damages.
*Enough with the overused “Cupertino” metonymy

Obviously Retina would be ideal but it’s a stretch to call it “sucked donkey balls”.
It’s not a stretch at all. It sucks donkey balls compared to the Nook HD, and unlike the “Apple build quality” you claim this Acer tablet doesn’t have, the suckage of the iPad Mini display is quite quantifiable.

That’s not saying much because the resolution on the iPad and iPad 2 sucked donkey balls. I’ve seen the resolution on the iPad Mini, and it sucks too. It doesn’t even come close to the beauty of the Nook HD display, and even the Nexus 7 kicks its ass.

LMAO @ all the douche-y comments from posters who fancy themselves enough as “tablet aficionados” to have the nerve to call “ugly” what’s essentially a piece of glass in a thin rectangular frame based solely on the front shot of the device. LOL!
