The HTC One is about the same weight as the iPhone 4S- 142g vs 140g, respectively. I can feel a distinct difference when I got the iPhone 5 (112g) compared to my 4S.
Even if you were to add a case like ADOPTED Leather case (from Apple Store) which will add another 25g. Still on the light side.

It’s a little to fat to look like a MBP. Maybe the older 13" MBP but the latest rMBP looks much more svelte and without the overtly rounded corners on the HP:

Will the the tablet lasts for 8 hours + on a single charge.
Pro Tools on Intel Atom tablet- good luck with getting low latency performance. Besides there’s no multitouch support and while Cubasis costs $50 and Korg iMS-20 at $20 (tie them all together using Audiobus for $10 and you get a pretty cheap setup that’s good enough for most musicians), Pro Tools starts at $700.

The IDC reports shipping. The difference lately is the proliferation of low cost tablets originating China.
The latest IDC number accounts 32% of tablets shipped sourced from other vendors besides Samsung, Asus, Amazon, MS and Apple (who has 40%). Samsung, who has the 2nd highest share but still 1/2 of Apple’s.
This video pretty much explain why Chinese manufacturers are flooding the market with cheap Android tablets: http://youtu.be/JD97ejrHVRE
While I’m sure most of them will be sold (eventually) the number of shipment doesn’t necessarily equate usage data.

Perhaps if MS had shown the iPad at its best and then been able to top apps like Traktor DJ, Korg iMS-20 or Cubasis, then it could probably help Windows RT.

But instead it misrepresents the iPad and in turn shoots for a much lower goals.

That’s nice.
The problem with the Xbox One is that it uses the same design as the Surface but instead of metal and better built quality, it relies on plastic. The problem with that is that the plastic becomes the pervasive aspect in the design.
Why can’t a console looks like a Mac Mini. Simple, relatively cheap and still made out of metal:

I hated iTunes on my 2008 iMac but love it on my newer rMBP. Having faster and more powerful Mac makes a huge difference to me.

I still prefer the console route for more enjoyment. Both the Xbox One and PS4 probably outperform and probably presents less stress than running Mac for gaming.

An interesting comparison between Xbox and its obvious and less obvious competitors.
That the PS3 released a year later, has exceeded the 360 sales according to IDC latest number (77.2 million units to 76 mil).
That the Wii leads both the Xbox and the PS3- 99 million units sold. That the PS2 is the best selling console of all time @ 155 million.
That the iPad (9.7" version only) released 5 years after the 360 and sells at much higher price point ($499 vs $299 in 2010) has sold over 30 million more units than the 360 (100 million iPads).
Apple sold more iPhones in a year than MS has sold the 360 in 7.5 years (125 million in 2012).

The camera on N8 has greater potential than the 925. The latter use the same small sensor found on most phones nowadays. The N8 in the other hand use a 1/1.8" sensor- almost the same size sensor found in better compact digicam- like the LX-5 or the Canon S100 (1/1.7"). It still remains the next largest sensor next to the 808.

As others have mentioned, Instashare already allows you to easily move files between devices.
I also use Cloudapp to share files (and install Cloudier on my iPhone).
Another method is using Files App in conjunction with Dropbox or Google Drive or even IP address to share files between Mac/PC and your iDevices. Files App also functions as your finder/files organizer:

You can also open pretty much any files within Files App.

I think it would come down newer display technology (IGZO perhaps or OLED) with low power consumption and an improvement in battery technology.
I still believe that Apple prefers to not deviate too much from the current size. One hand operation is still high on its list. The iPhone 5 already pushes the top furthest corner of the screen out of reach without some grip modification. By going 4.3", it’s even further out. You can counter this by building thinner phone- you’re gripping less volume.
One concerns about bigger screen is the reduction in pixel density if the resolution stays the same- currently. 4" @ 1136*640 or 326ppi. Increasing it to 4.3 reduces the ppi to just over 300 and 4.5" to around 289ppi.
Unless Apple changes how iOS handles display which limits fragmentation (by 2 x resolution), the current tech may not support 2272*1280 even if there’s a 4.3" or 4.5" display with that kind of resolution.

There are two incredibly tiny screws at the bottom of the iPhone 5. Just like they are on the MBP, these are variation on the more common Hex sockets which has six instead of the five (Penta) found on Apple products. These screws are always countersunk and flushed.
Samsung tends to use regular Philips screws- not as attractive looking and make little attempt to make sure that the laptop are flushed to the surface.
Here’s the bottom of the Series 9 laptop:

And here’s from the 15" rMBP:

Since both these laptops are manufactured in similar facilities, the difference is in the engineering. That Apple still goes one step further with its product.

The actual headline is that Samsung beats its own (and LG) panels since the displays on the Retina MBP are actually made by both Samsung and LG.

Might I add that unlike the Nexus 4, the speaker on the iPhone 5 has better placement- you don’t render the speaker useless every time you lay the phone down (while still using the phone).

like the understated Design of Phones like the Nexus 4, and the Optimus G, ones that when turned off jjust look pretty sitting there
There’s no phone that’s more understated than the iPhone 5 in black slate. Even the Nexus 4 and Optimus G are on the gaudy side with their disco-city motifs.

There are better phones out there but none that are quite as simple in design. The Google Nexus 4 running the android OS looks quite amazing but to me Google made the mistake of putting too much design language onto a phone that for better or worse was made to sell for much less.
The iPhone 5 doesn’t require embellishment and in black, there’s a certain amount of disregard for anything besides the materials from which it is made- aluminium (anodised black) and glass. Even the Apple logo that’s prominent in other Apple devices, practically disappears on the iPhone 5.
I should add the size. Not the size of the display but the device itself. I don’t think phones like the Nexus 4 is terribly large but to me miniaturisation is still one of the more interesting pursuit in tech (and science) and instead of going bigger, we should be striving for smaller and lighter phones.

I forgot to mention the 2nd one is slightly thinner (which reduces the grip and allowing easier touch/finger access to the bigger display).

Here’s a comparison I made of the current iPhone 5, an iPhone with a 4.36" Display but using the same size body and an iPhone with a 4.58" Display on a slightly larger body. And I’m using the HTC One to show the relative size.

It’s within Google right to control the experience users get when using its services. Besides WP users can easily access YT using Internet Explorer. It has all the components required.
MS seems to want it both ways- to be able to attack Google’s services ie. Scroogled and at the same time wanting to use them.

When something as widely used as YouTube is in concern, then yes.
You’re pretty much either obligated to produce an app or to let others produce an app.
But isn’t YouTube accessible via any mobile browser.
