Terrible still is that it’s front-loaded with good music – the singles – then it just falls off into ambient wandering. It’s unlistenable, just like HTDA’s “Omen EP”. It’s just not music, it’s masturbation.

No, the consoles are selling at a ratio of 0:0. The tide could turn tomorrow and not a single console will have shipped.

With Teeth is a weird disc, but it was my favorite of that year. Not his strongest stuff, especially since I’d spent the previous couple years falling in love with the The Fragile, but there are some great songs on there. It honestly sounds like his ‘poppiest’, if that’s a thing.
Year Zero, however, is his best work. It’s like he thought of the great idea after he had to commit to it and it’s the result. From the ARG stuff to the marketing to the music, everything about that is a place I want to be. When he abandoned his label and that with Ghosts and The Slip, I felt he fell off the horse a bit.

Not if they’re un-subsidized. Can’t be tossing out $600-$700 on a whim for a new phone I want.

That was pretty terrible and I’m usually up for J-Tops’ humor. OTV literally looks like some punks broadcasting out of a closet. Michael Shane? What is he doing?

Everything about how iOS handles apps is clunky. Everything. It’s not even a slightly acceptable substitute for multitasking. Whether it’s the constant notifications to activate Push notifications, or the clunky notification center, or app switching, or different APIs and service that won’t perform unless you’re actually in the app (like, say Dropbox automatically uploading images until you open Dropbox), it’s all so, so dumb.
Then you get the really dumb stuff like iOS’s keyboard is terrible. Absolutely terrible. I hate it so much. Android’s stock is ten times better at the LEAST.
It’s just a long list of things. iOS needs rebooted soooo much.

I meant on a functionality front, how many options are off the table. Sure, the performance is better in a frame-by-frame basis, but it’s also annoying to not actually have this thing REALLY multi-tasking.

I don’t know. Year Zero is my favorite NIN work, but The Slip wasn’t great and Welcome Oblivion was good, but not excellent. I don’t even want Reznor to sound the same, I just want something beyond his comfort zone. No cavernous instrumentals for you!
