Predicting a tornado is one thing. Predicting an F4 or F5 is something else entirely. The nature of living in Tornado Alley is that these things are bound to happen. Just a sad reality. We are many meteorological breakthroughs away from predicting these behemoths.

Yeah, all those free SMSs and free calls I’ve been placing for the past three years are just hideous. Yuck.

I like the overall push to hangouts, but I hate the fact the Google continues to push out products that lack a seemless transition. It really should have incorporated Voice features from the start. It really should have brought in old conversations from Google+ Messenger and Talk. I get that it replaced Talk on mobile, but the way that it did was confusing to the end user. I searched for Hangouts in the Play Store and it said that it was already installed. I had to assume that it meant Talk. It should have just “updated” Talk and turned it into Hangouts. It was oddly handled. Google is never good at the transition, but I believe they’ll get it right in the long term.

Google is well-known for their in-between confusing period. I hate the fact that my past Google+ Messenger conversations did not transition.

It does bear a striking resemblance, but the argument doesn’t makes a ton of sense. This Pinterest redesign came after the idea of cards in Google Now and their push into Google’s overall design. Cards were already seeping into other designs in Google products on mobile and desktop. To say that Google is copying Pinterest here is a joke.

I realize the monetary potential of this, but I still do not understand why podcasts aren’t integrated into the Play Store. Seems like a no brainer.

I use Pocket Casts as well, it’s the goods. I would like something like that app integrated with Play so that I could listen to them on a computer and other devices and have that synced. It could then remember tracking and played vs unplayed wherever I am. It would make sense for Google to do this, but podcasts are a low priority. There must be some data to pull from people’s podcast listening habits that would instigate their incorporation.

I should restate, it’s not about the app in my mind, it is about bringing Podcasts as a medium into the Play Store. Music is not a podcast, so they’d be separated by default.

They can be separated in the same app.

Governments and extremists are the loudest voices. This is the sad truth. There is no black and white issue, it mixes and becomes grey. The other happier truth is that the grey is where most people tend to stand. Both sides can be wrong and vise versa. There are millions of Palestinians and Israelis who seek first to understand. To be human is to challenge your own ways and understand that your enemy is just as human as you.

The crazy thing is that in December, you could walk 150 yards down the cobblestone moorings in between the river and Leonor K. Sullivan! Seemingly a record low in my lifetime. The big muddy is pretty bipolar right now. In December it was so low that you could see a WWII US Minesweeper not seen since it sunk in the flood of ’93. USS Inaugural in St. Louis
