It isn’t bad. The writing is a little informal for my taste, and there are a bunch of spelling and grammar problems.

These articles on film always seem to be dripping with prejudice towards the new way of handling things. The truth is that digital cinema is the path of the future: it is far easier to produce and far easier to preserve. Granted codecs may get in the way of future playback, but codecs — especially raw codecs like the ones used on these motion pictures — can easily be reverse engineered.

Actually, I think this one looks a lot more powerful and interesting than the Nest.

The Next Web’s article shows it happening for “What is the best smartphone ever” as well.

Yeppers. This is a little concerning. Does Apple plan on censoring every fact that doesn’t support the company line?

I just don’t think you understand how helpful this could actually be. If there’s something important you want people to know about (Wedding announcement, important news article, etc), then you may be willing to pay a couple of extra dollars to get a higher placement. It’s a little cringe-worthy that this is how Facebook is making money, but it could still be a useful service.

Agreed. It seems that the Facebook app has never been and never will be an actual priority for the company. Not only is API performance slow, the first-party app seems to have a giant memory leak (at least on Android; I can’t speak for people’s iOS experiences).

While definitely a workaround to a very irritating and frustrating design flaw that I’ve found in OS X’s Menu Bar implementation, this is a really great solution. I wish the developers all the best.

I think you have hit the nail on the head here. The reason we haven’t heard anything for certain yet is that Microsoft doesn’t want to kill sales for its current or near future products.

Unfortunately, Bing Desktop doesn’t work on Windows 8.

I agree that a better edition of Windows Live Essentials is an absolute necessity. Without the functionality provided by those applications, Windows 8 (especially Windows RT) can’t hope to compete with the likes of iOS and — to a much lesser extent — Android.

Whether or not they admit it, their business model is being threatened by these other companies, and the touch features of Windows 8 (which is almost the entire OS) are a direct response.
