WAIT! What if this experiment’s goal is to gather reactions so that the Xbox720 would be (let’s say) $299 PLUS a 2 year contract…

Try to see beyond yourself. Just like with Achievements in 2005, this is not about if you like the idea, but about how will the industry change with the innovation that it’s being brought to the table. Both Sony and Nintendo followed the model of Microsoft (heavy online marketplace, multiplayer gaming and rewards). This is going to be a new game changer. This could give consoles models (no generation, but models/SKUs) a short life-span like cellphones.

I don’t get it, why a whole year?. You just made a feature about keeping notes that required 3 different softwares connected to the cloud… isn’t that the answer you’re looking for? Internet makes you more productive, more efficient, you don’t need to leave for a year to see that.

First of all, thanks for the polite answers.
I’m not saying that players shouldn’t be killed nor be “always-safe”, Im aware what EvE it’s about. But I’m sure not all the players signed in for this massive unbalance of the economy.
My conflict here is that, though it IS awesome this can be done in a game, I don’t agree with the sacrifice of fairness in pro of the ironic “liberty of anarchy”. Quoting @danielmalvarado " I don’t want to get attacked for not participating in your anarchist fantasy."
EvE, and this event, are awesome. No doubt about it,

Jon Lander is missing an important point here: they’re offering a service. You just can’t take a stand like “people will have to roll with it” under the argument that the Goonswarm “is doing exactly what you’re able to do in the game”. That’s like a government that does nothing to protect its citizens; that’s like saying “you’re able to rob a store in real-life, because it’s legal to buy a gun.” No Jon Lander, being able to do something doesn’t mean it’s OK to do it, specially if it affects others.
