I’ll probably move to 13.04 from 12.10 over the next week. Are the “webapps” like Gmail working yet? I was never able to to get them to work in 12.10 and have read that plenty of other people were unable as well. I’ve read a few articles about 13.04 and the consensus seems to be not too many features added, but stability and smoothness improvements.

My Galaxy Nexus is starting to slow down a bit (Chrome is not smooth at all and opening up Now is slow), but, considering its a glorified GSII in terms of hardware, the GNex has been an amazing phone for 18 months. SAMOLED’s deep blacks and vivid colors (even if not accurate) are stunning, if only the screen was visible in sunlight.

I would recommend the Nexus 7, but, with I/O coming up, I would wait for the 2013 Nexus 7.

Here is the IDC press release with some commentary.

Seeing Android get to 60% of the market so quickly is quite surprising. IDC’s forecast from a little over a year ago predicted that Android would only get to 50-50 in terms of market share in 2016. With Android having this much market share, I agree with hecareth, its going to be hard to not develop for Android tablets.
