ICS allows for software buttons, Samsung makes flagship with one physical and two capacitive buttons.

I was wondering about this as well. ASUS is generally seen as the best Android tablet maker, so you would think a refresh of its tablet line up would get a review just like Samsung’s / Toshiba’s. I’m sure they will review the Infinity in a couple of weeks though.

Wait for the Infinity. You get a higher res display, Wi-Fi improvement, and June 10 isn’t that far away. According to Vlad, the keyboard dock is compatible.

If by full price you mean unsubsidized, then I would recommend the Galaxy Nexus from the Google Play for $399.
As far as smartphone or tablet, I would definitely say smartphone. I would guess there are roughly zero people who read The Verge that have a tablet but not a smartphone.
