1.) There’s no LTE.
Sort of a major point for me. If I were to go the $400 route I’d want to tether the GNex to my iPad to stop paying for the built-in LTE. It appears that the $50 Tmobile plan only includes 100mb of HSPA+ and the rest is back to regular HSPA/3G.
I don’t really need a world phone at the moment. The last time I travelled I just jailbroke and unlocked my iPhone, which isn’t too big of a deal.

I’m not so sure this is the best option, but it seems reasonable. The main reason I can justify the money for the plan on Verizon for the GNex is that it would replace my iPad plan (as they’re both LTE, and both give me the ability to hotspot). My iPad isn’t a contract, but it’s prepaid, but I usually pay it every month so I’m always connected. If I get the GNex and run it on TMobile, not only would I have to pay for my iPad monthly, but also my iPhone, and the GNex (in addition to the $400 upfront).
If I were to get the unlocked HSPA version, the only way I could justify it would be to use it on AT&T and just swap the sim from my iPhone, but even then I’m not sure the $400 is worth it.

In case anyone was wondering, the first one (ends in 96b) is the SD, while the second one is HD.
