Short Attention Span Theatre! Do you just want a movie of fight scenes where the segues are just used for them to refill on ammo or super juice or whatever?

Sounds like you just want to play a video game. I found the Rock ‘Em, Sock ’Em Robot fights between the Kryptonians tiresome. How many destroyed asphalt streets, and toppled buildings did they go through? They could have cut the film by 30 minutes if they cut down on the fight scenes. I enjoyed the interaction between Clark Kent and his family. Since the filmmakers chose to incorporate his childhood experiences, there were certain bullet points that needed to be covered. The discovery of his powers and how to deal with them, the conflict of when/where to use them, the relationship between his Earth parents, the revelation of his origins. I thought they did a pretty good job of intermixing the various points in time. Now for Superman 2, they don’t have to go over the same material and can concentrate on bringing in a bad-ass villain.

Just as in other products, more convenient doesn’t equate to better quality. Tomatoes are now engineered to be more bruise resistant and have longer shelf life, but they forgot to keep flavor in the mix.

There are not that many people that can make the call of the NightJar or make a caller accurate enough to fool the real bird. With an app, anyone can download it and drive the birds nuts. Plus this is an endangered species, so the rules are stricter.
If you want to use the app to call pigeons so that they perch over your annoying neighbor’s car, go for it!

The attempt to confuse the consumer was Apple’s interpretation of the similarities to bolster their case against Samsung. Samsung retorted that the green phone icon was a common symbol for the Answer Phone Call function on other devices. Samsung was lazy in not trying to differentiate enough. Hell, even I have been guilty of coming up with an icon that looked similar to an existing one and just changed the color or the angle or flipped the symbol. The end result is the same: both OS’s have similar looking controls for the same function, but the ones who cried foul against Samsung will now say that it’s okay because how many ways can you implement a slide control? You need a line and some sort of button to push along.

While I feel Apple products (hardware and software) are top-notch, when they sue others because they believe others “should not copy – come up with something on their own”, then Apple needs to be held to a higher standard. One of Apple’s points in the trial was the green phone answer button that Samsung changed a little bit to “be different”, but Apple said it was an attempt to confuse customers into believing they were using an iPhone. Well, when you pull up the new iOS7 Control Center with the flat slider controls that look just like Android’s except a different color, should they get away with that?
Ultimately, it is a rhetorical question, because they will get away with it and then the Apple-ites will claim it as their own and then complain that the next iteration of some other OS is copying Apple.

Not necessarily. Gradients can be caused by light source as well. Take a look at a wall in your house. Is it all one consistent color?

$229 is a bit more palatable than $299, but the reason I would buy an iPod would be for my kids at this point and a camera would be one of the must haves.
