Think the same thing…… Get some web OS goodness into the jelly bean!!!!
But to be honest…………… ICS already pretty much has everything good in web OS……

I see that, too. I was quite disappointed when it was first revealed. The screen, the form, the touch-wiz. Later on, when I read more and more about it, i become like it soooo much. The design isn’t bad. It’s actually pretty good. Unlike One X, which you get impressed the first sight and its appealing just falls gradually, SGS III has the potential to grow on you day by day.
More importantly, this phone is all about the performance, functions and speed!!! For me, I am not buying for the touchwiz and those S-addons. I am buying for the hardware….. it will guarantee me good for 2 years use.
The day I get it on hand, I will just flash the CM9 into this piece of beast!! I hate touchwiz soooo bad….. Maybe it’s pretty functional. The look, the design are just awefully bad.

Oh my goodness,, you guys here basically are discussing how similar the damn UIs are……. Impossible…..
You know what, none of them can do shit well, so why care about the damn UI coz I won’t use them anyways.
But the thing, I read somewhere, I can use S-voice to take a photo and wake up my phone or such. I guess that’s the major advantage that S voice over Siri. Using your voice to do some tasks require two ppl is why ppl use such an application. Not something like search the web or check the weather cuz i can do it by touching the damn touch and do it a lot faster…….And not look stupid.

I gotta say GNex is very beautiful design…. and Stock Android rules them all….

Agree. The more you get evolved, the more difficult you feel to make a change. I am sure Microsoft definitely can come up something on the same par with the mockup. However, there’re a lot of things underneath for other stuff to be taken consideration into.
Still, I hope MS can do a better job than the screen shot posted on the blog…..Seriously, I don’t like Ribbon UI….. Why cannot everything be metro?? or hydrid??

You know I don’t worry too much about the functionality of the apps. They have plenty of WP apps to reference. They cannot screw up too bad. Currently, the OS is still under developing.
What I worry the most is the look……. I have no doubt that Metro UI is very very very elegant and believe that’s the way for the whole web to go.
(Seriously, fake 3D shadow, etc just make me feel soooo 2001, sick of it. We need something clearn and sharp, plain and simple.. Metro is the good one. ICS is good one, too, as you can see they both share some design elements. )
The thing is they seem they didn’t do a great job to integrate the traditional desktop and metro UI together…..It feels very very inconsistent. I would like to see something like this happen.

Man, if one man can do this, Microsoft as one of the top should do better

Such a decision is soooooooooooooooooooooo welcome!!!! I love pure Stock Android + no Carrier lock!!!
I don’t mind OEM skin to differentiate the brandings as long as I can uninstall them with one single click….
Seriously, when we still in pre-ICS age, we definitely see the need of a skin overlay on the android…. since it was just ugly…. But, dude, ICS just got the best UI ever!! Clean & Sharp, Plan & Simple… Everything other than that just makes it downgraded……………
Think about SGSIII with stock android + all those addons + pentaband + unlocked ….. how sexy it would be…..

I am not very familiar with Battlefield 3. Currently, I am playing MW3 and considering to switch to BF3 due to new game engine, better graphic and sound effects, etc. As I understand the situation right here, EA/DICE rent out (almost) their servers for private game session by charging extra. Meanwhile, most of the players are not able to connect to public servers???
If that’s the case, that’s ridiculous. I will have to refuse to buy this game!

I think the pentile screen has been way more exaggerated. I know it might not be as good as those SLCD2, but with such a high resolution and density, I don’t think it’s much of an issue. I have play with GNex for a little while. To me, screen is quite sharp, the color is way more vivid than my iPhone 4. I got no problem with it.

When I firstly saw SGS3, I wasn’t impressed as well. I even considered it fugly. Later on, the more pics I see, the more it grows on me…. Now, I am completely sold by the design.
The reason of why there’s a physical button in my opinion is those software enhancements comes with SGS3 require a button to bring a better experience. Let’s see S voice. I am assuming that you can activate it in the lock screen where there’s no software buttons are displayed. Also, physical buttons do a better job in term of double click, hold, etc than software buttons.
As for the edge-to-edge display, I guess accidental touching is the main reason they do not design that way.
Anyways, it’s actually a very very gorgeous phone….. I just want it soooooo bad. I hope when they release it on AWS carriers like wind/mobilicity/Tmobile, they will make it pentaband. So I do not have to prepare another when traveling abroad, while enjoying the low rate from those carriers….

I agree with you that such a limitation will do no good to the country in long term. However, you just give me a reason why the government has a rule like that for now. Last time I checked, the first time Chinese gained the full control of Uygur area was AD 60, which was the Han Dynasty. Up to the recent, since 1750, the centralized government of Qing government have established the capital city of this region. Around the same time, Chinese put the tibet under the control. Note that has been almost 400 years. So, please stop “OTHER NATIONS that are currently being violently integrated into the ethnic Han vision of greater China.” shit. Speeches like harms the unity of China, which is the reason why these damn rules happen!

Man, as much as I like your revamp…… this just looks too similar to iPhone 4…….at the first glance…. I thought, wow, Sony skinned iPhone 4!!! But I like it…
I got fed up by iPhone. I need to jump ship….. SGS3 seems pretty nice.. but I like Sony’s design… always awesome!!!!!!! the only company that can compete with Apple in terms of industrial design….
if God can make Song’s design + Samsung’s spec, just take my money, i don’t need to see the actual product.!!!!!

Battery wise,, Smart Stay to keep using first camera doesn’t sound very energy friendly….. Maybe I understand it wrong??
honestly, I am a bit disappointed…… Basically, it’s just an enhanced version of GNeX……. I see their road map here…. GNeX phones will be the basic & reference phone. A year later, they will release the enhanced version.. just like Apple’s approach 3G → 3GS , 4→ 4S
I was expecting SAP 4.3ish at 720p and a better design….. I hope it’s just a typo and low res images………otherwise, I will probably look somewhere else, like OneX or iPhone 5.

I think I love all these improvements!!! Innovations!! Battery-wise, keeping camera reading my move doesn’t sound that cool actually…..why don’t they just build in a low battery consuming optimal sensor there?
I had one Sammy dumb phone before. it was not a good experience – overpriced, low build quality, etc. Since then, I’ve never owned a Sammy phone again. But you know what, it’s time to eat some Sammy pies now.
I’m so looking forward to S3 and the next Nexus!!!
