I have the Note 2, so the S4 is interesting, but not a must upgrade. I’m going to wait and see what else is in the pipeline before making a decision. CTIA also will help me decide what I should do in the interim. The next Note probably won’t be on Verizon until November or December, and nothing is a really compelling upgrade.
I agree. I am still bummed about the death of Astrid. I relied on it heavily and loved the power pack widget and locale plugin. Since they announced the news, I have tried a few other task lists, and have settled on Any.Do. I hadn’t used it for a while and they are trying to rapidly improve it so that it can be a viable Astrid replacement. It still isn’t all the way there, but it has the most potential and a beautiful UI. I too share the sentiment of not being all that impressed by what Yahoo is doing. I don’t see a coherent strategy, or understand what it is evolving into. Big moves do not necessarily mean good things for the company. JC Penny is now a cautionary tale, but was initially lauded for their large moves that nearly sank the company by a celebrated executive in their first CEO role. It sounds like a familiar plot that has yet to play out.
I really depend on Astrid and paid for the premium package, not because I need the features, but as a way to say thank you. The fact that they are going to show a way to download your data worries me. This is truly saddening, and I hope they don’t shut this down and make it a Yahoo exclusive.
