I’m a big fan of Windows 8 even on a desktop, and I dont mind metro (although I rarely use it), but it would be nice if there was a desktop mode that made the metro environment and apps run in the traditional desktop. I get the need to make Windows more touch friendly, but If metro apps had the option to run in a window as opposed to fullscreen and if the start screen was a mix of the old start menu and the metro start screen I think 8 would be a much bigger hit. I think 8 is the best OS out there, but MS just went too extreme with it all. There is a happy medium between touch and mouse and keyboard, 8 just isn’t quite there yet.
