If WP can’t really succeed with billions worth of marketing then how is Jolla going to break open the market? Am I simply not seeing some compelling feature they are offering?

Bada marketshare was bigger (or rather less small) then WP. Don’t see why Tizen couldn’t do the same.

Maybe S3 owners aren’t a big part of the S4 buyers?
Also, people buying an S4 now will know that their S4 will be updated with new features in the future. It’s like the premise for buying a Nexus.

Yeah, that’s true. Always wonder if these Chines thinbgs would be something useful, but just like these cheap tablets I’m pretty sure i will never buy one.

No, it really didn’t. That trend was already set before the Nexus was introduced. people expected crazy sales numbers from the N& and they frankly just aren’t there. Samsung is by far the biggest Android tablet maker.

The Nexus 7 came at the time when Android tablet sales were already going up sharply. Nexus 7 sold 5 million on a total of 130 million Android tablets in 2012.

Is this really something new though? I see tons of these TV → Android computer dongles. Dealextrema literally has hundreds of different ones in their store.

I though it was pretty clear what can be expected. Lemme copy that bit for you:
In the same trime frame of 5 quarters, Android went from 2% to 10% and then on to 36%. iOS grew to 17%
WP7 didn’t have laughable specs. It had high end specs for the time. Agreed, they held on to those “2010 specs” until 2012. Exactly the same is happening with WP8 though. It’s still stuck with dual core SOCs and 720p screens.

Indeed Google should just ignore MS instead of getting down with them in the mud.
Of course MS is desperate for attention so they will spin any opportunity to involve Google.

Well when you insist people use your protocol “for the sake of the users” then don’t be a prick to ask money for it.
And seriously, R&D for exFAT?!?!? That whole exFAT thing is just a fucking low blow. It’s good that Apple and Google at least told MS to fuck off with their fake slightly changed FAT protocol.

More MS bullshit. Seriously!
I get ads on every platform that uses the API. I also get “not for mobile devices” messages and I cannot download content.
MS violates several clauses. Not just one. Acting “like a fucking little girl” pretending they need a more comprehensive API to fulfill the license is simply pathetic. of course the astroturgers and idiots who don’t think further than their nose is long will lap it up, but still.
