Yes but the problem is that no matter how good G+ is its still gonna be a second choice social network. Most people dont have time to manage that many social networks. It’s a shame really cause it’s a great product, far superior to Facebook…

You need to activate Quartz Extreme. Im really surprised nobodys mentioned that before. I can promise you that that will significantly improve frame rate and responsiveness of the UI. Use a tool called Quartz Debug to activate it (its under hardware acceleration).
And download beta Webkit instead of Safari. Its silky smooth.
