…and its STILL got awful and slow. Seriously, as soon as Microsoft work out a way of integrating Facebook groups into WP7 I will be leaving the Facebook app with gleeful abandon!

It. Just. WORKS!

But more specificially:
*Window Management: snapping, and generally maximizing and minimizing. I still have no idea what the + and – buttons do in OSX!
*Task bar: pinned apps, mousing over apps to see previews of open apps (often with overlayed media controls too!), lists of recently opened files and options on right click of icons.
*Plug and play: I have never anything plugged into a USB of my PC which hasn’t been recognised or worked. Can’t say this for the macs I own.

All of this is with a Win7 PC.

I like that the shape of the speech bubbles reflect tell me the mad shouty person owns an iPhone (curved bubbles), whereas the person being confronted has a WP7 (squared off, flat boxes). That attention to detail will get you far in life sir!

You state "How do you easily “show concepts” without using cliched icons…?" . The answer is that it isn’t easy, but Microsoft are trying really hard and making amazing progress towards having easy to use without the disgusting skeuomorphism that Apple has used of late. Whilst fake pages on a calender app do help us to see the function of the app, they are ugly and lazy design. And the grey linen effect Apple use in iOS? Revolting. I use revolting intentionally, as it was such design ‘touches’ that made me revolt and tranfer to WP7!

So I had the same issue with autodownload of podcasts on my Trophy, but upon reading the settings properly, I have fixed it. Podcasts will only autodownload if your wifi is on and your phone is charging. I leave the wifi on my phone and charge it over night and all my podcasts are always there in the morning. Maybe the issue for you is your buggy connection to your home wifi?

I guess this is just what Nintendo is doing with the new Wii U controller really!

Anyone else feel like this is just becoming a bit too much like AOL for comfort? Most all of these apps exist within your Facebook window, reducing screen real estate and just looking like a cluttered mess. Just like AOL used to be, where you had persistent links to all the AOL crap up top. I’m all for using Facebook for easy commenting, but when apps like Washington Post Social Reader give you a tiny amount of text surrounded by other useless crap it just makes me angry.

From what the leaks say, and based on Microsofts acquisition of Skype, I see integration of all these kind of services a strong possibility. Yeah!

480×320? And people complain about Windows Phone’s screen resolution!

I, for one, bloody love these. The baffling lunacy with which Samsung presents itself it truly unique and, whilst it may not have the elegance of Apple marketing, really stands out and it just great fun!
