The main thing that I don’t like about it is that the app doesn’t currently show which of your contacts are presently available. Other than that, though, I’m enjoying it thus far.

I’m appalled by this story on multiple levels (first, fourth, and fifth amendments for a start), but holy crap, The Verge! Why must you sensationalize every single headline? You’re as bad as Fox News.

I just listened to WWDTM this morning and thought Schmidt was fantastic on the show. His comments about the “Don’t be evil” rule were enlightening, especially when he gave the example of the meeting he was in and an engineer exclaiming that something was evil which directly lead to the cancellation of a program. It’s clear to me, and I think to anyone who listened to his comments directly, that it’s not that he think’s being evil is good, it’s simply that there is nothing the precisely defines evil in a business sense so it’s quite difficult to train one’s employees on but once he saw how it could work (as in the meeting I mentioned above) he realized that it’s actually a great way to work when you’re working with a bunch of really smart people.

I suppose it shouldn’t be terribly surprising that The Verge completely missed this concept.

Also, Google Wave was anything but a waste. While Wave itself may no longer exist, so much of the technology from Wave are now in other products, such as gmail, drive, and much more. I don’t particularly believe Glass will catch on (although I could be completely wrong) but I love that they’re developing it in such a open way and I have no doubt that even if Glass itself fails the tech from it will be part of the Google formula going forward.

BTW, you should go listen to the show if for no other reason than to hear the awesome joke involving Bing.
