Mac Pros are excellent video production computers, everyone in that industry uses them
That’s not true on every level.
People are dumping FCP for better alternatives like Avid.
Apples flaky policy on upgrades/backward compatibility, not supporting standards and emphasis on the home video market was the last straw.
It’s simple. how can an industry rely on software that sways with the wind? This is compounded by everything being shrouded in secrecy and no input from users. You only get to hear of the new (or perhaps lack of) features on release.
Yes, a nice little surprise that….

For the ‘masses’, the glimmer of anything Apple is just too difficult to resist – even if the actual product is poor.

What? You gave people a choice?
When the contract is up again, remember not to give people a choice. It’s not for them to decide, it’s you’re responsibility. By them WP will have matured and the Nokia hardware should be outstanding.

I remember watching a video or video blog of some Microsoft person saying everyone will have touch screen monitors eventually. The video wasn’t even about displays as I remember, but this apparent comment from Dell makes me think perhaps this is what Microsoft are aiming for.
They could actually be pushing OEM’s to produce touchscreen monitors and laptops.

It looks beautiful. iOS and Android definitely need to adopt the Metro look.

Yes, and to be honest, Microsoft really doesn’t need to do this to gain traction.
At the moment there is a demand for tablets. OEM’s have only Android and soon-to-be Windows 8. Android was pretty much DOA, so the only real alternative is W8.
Now with Windows being closely related to RT and W8 being the de facto standard with an automatic install base for all new PC’s, I see little motivation for Microsoft to tempt OEM’s.
The use of the word ‘tempt’ is a misnomer actually, because I believe all the OEM’s are grateful Windows 8 and RT are up and coming.

I don’t think they are Anti-MS,
BUT, the top level people have very little experience of Microsoft products. This of course is a problem because then there is a perceivable bias through their ignorance which cannot be ignored.
Saying that, they are definitely Pro-Apple. This may or may not have an affect on their MS related articles.

It sounds like you are a little ‘bored’ with the iOS UI and UX. I’m not saying this to troll.
Maybe your next phone should be something other than Apple. Give it a try. If it doesn’t work out, you could always try another OS or even go back to iOS.

Yes, I agree the problem with adopting the concept of Microsoft’s Live Tiles > i.e. Live Icons on iOS is that the icons are too small – so hugely limits what type of information you can squeeze in.
The point regarding not deviating too much from changing the look of updateable icons is also relevant. Live Tiles can get away with this, and it works perfectly, because they have the space to do this. Also the Metro design language, that moves away from icons and encourages typography also helps.

Yes, just like you can avoid cutting off your call signal by holding it correctly…

Seriously, the sheer arrogance is unbelievable. Does it actually hurt to acknowledge that the excessive use of glass on a small mobile device is a Design flaw?

Yawn.
Just STOP trying to justify what is essentially a Design flaw.
Accept it.

What a stupid headline – sounds like an excuse just to get the words “steve” and “jobs” in the title.

I mean IMO Apples latest two updates have added a lot, the difference from 10.6 to 10.7 is huge, then they are adding more with next one. I mean what did Microsoft do here? Tear away features and added a fancy start menu?
Apples latest updates compared to Windows 7 and Windows 8 have been minor incrementations – update is too big a word to use.
What you wrote, just illustrates your gross ignorance – get out of your little Apple bubble and do some reading-up in the real world.
And I can’t believe what you just wrote

Yes, I have and all the people who build their own systems. It’s a sizeable market, but off course an Apple fanboi wouldn’t understand this.
Anyway, the large majority of Windows sales (all versions) are due to new PC sales. It’s a hard fact for MS haters to swallow, but every year millions of people will buy a new PC – and they will almost certainly have Windows preloaded. However, this year, tablets will have Windows on aswell.
