Both Google and Microsoft need to stop this crap! They both make enough money that this really shouldn’t be an issue. Us customer are the ones stuck in the crossfire. Instead of taking sides the tech community needs to call both these companies out!

Normal consumers don’t know the difference between RAM and HDD space. If there are still a large number of consumers that don’t know the difference between RT and Windows 8, than the geeks on these blogs and the ones that are sales men/women selling these devices have all failed!
All the “Normal consumers” that I know, go into stores like Best Buy and ask for help when buying things they don’t understand. Heck, I’ve made many a trips to best buy with them.
You don’t have to agree on how Microsoft has handled RT, but it is here and it’s not that hard to explain to the “Normals”.

I’m not saying Windows 8 is perfect. It’s not. I agree having the gesture or move your mouse to the corner to see the time, is stupid. Microsoft has to fix these things and they will. If bringing something back is the best way to fix problems like that, then I’m all for it. My point is that I hope they don’t forgo a better solution, a more forward thinking solution because of the noise being generated by people who want Windows 8 to be Windows 7.

I supposed they didn’t do it that way for the very same reason we no longer have to type “win.com” at a dos prompt to start Windows. Progress!
I understand that Microsoft must address the needs of its current users, but I hope they don’t get too distracted trying turn Windows 8 back into Windows 7. It amazes me how 1 year ago the complaints where about how slow Microsoft was responding to Apple and Google. Now those same people are complaining Microsoft has done too much too fast.

This is how important boot to desktop is.
If I rebooted my computer once a day, with boot to desktop I could save 2 seconds(time it takes to click desktop tile) a day by using boot to desktop. 2 seconds a day adds up to about 2 hours every ten years… can you imagine what you could do with 2 hours every 10 years?
What if I rebooted twice a day?…. wow… totally Mind blowing isn’t it?
That’s how import boot to desktop really is.
