Also, he noted that we’re headed towards a singularity. That clearly shows that he’s up to date with post-modern philosophy and naturalism(ppp). I don’t know of him outside of this article, but I wouldn’t be so quick to put him down.

..how so?
Teleportation seems wild, but placing a brain in an electro-chemical vat doesn’t seem all that out of reach.

I can’t tell if I’ll enjoy the movie or not, but, considering that I’d REALLY like to see more game-developer documentaries, I’ll go ahead and throw down $9 on it.

I agree. As soon as I read the headlines today, I immediately thought “Damn, I love The Verge”. Apparently I wasn’t alone.

That’s a legitimate concern that you’ve stated, but note that Facebook is a huge leap in human development. How so? Because it’s a huge leap in global inter-connectivity. The internet itself provided the initial potential, and Facebook and Google are milestones in realizing that potential. It’s a crude system at this point, and it’s got a long ways to go, but it’s a solid foundation for efficient instant communication (on a global scale).
I say all of this in regards to Process philosophy and Novelty theory, where the universe is a novelty generating/conserving engine (inter-connectedness in ever greater states of complexity). From that perspective, Facebook is an incredibly useful tool. That’s not the way most people view Facebook, but that’s its function (within the realm of human-machine symbiosis).

sigh …that’s not infringement at all. If Mario was part of the actual program it’d be different.. but mentioning Mario in an analogy isn’t infringement at all.

HP will be just fine. Their newest rigs are awesome, and I say that while typing on an Elitebook 8560w. Incredibly well built computers in my opinion. Also, that’s not even 10% of their employees.. so there’s obviously no reason to worry. They’re just remodeling the infrastructure of their company is all (in the name of efficiency).

I’m curious as to why that’s the standard myself.. I got an Elitebook 8560w specifically for the 1900 × 1080 resolution, and was hoping this would have the same.

…and that’s the kind of writing that’s produced when New York Times takes a swing at social philosophy. The article would’ve had more gravity had they not degraded the positions with celebrity models.
