Is it just me or are all the posts like this starting to take on a less than genuine feel. Or maybe like an e-mail asking you to help someone transfer millions from a foreign bank account. No one can possibly believe that they need to repeat this junk over and over and over. Cheese.

I’m getting an xbox one, if only to make sure you never come anywhere near me.
You realize that “they” are watching everything you say on this message board. It doesn’t get any more public than this. You’d better watch your step now, they probably know exactly where you are by now and don’t like it that you are trying to blow their cover.

Microsoft itself had sessions at their TechEd show that went over hacking and intrusion detection tools, you don’t suppose they would really be able to pull one over on us do you? I can watch all traffic on the network inside my house easily, I they were going to do this stuff people would know soon enough.

Right, I don’t understand everyone’s myopic view on licensing game bits. Downloadable games and DLC will need some sort of protection on the PS4 too.
It’s the developers and publishers who would like to guard their revenue streams, not the platform creators. So, if you follow this to it’s logical conclusion, developers will prefer the platform with revenue assurances, over the one with users who want to avoid paying full price for things. This protected platform would likely get more developer love, and better games, maybe even cheaper games (if they aren’t too greedy) since they will rightly be paid like “licensing” (not ownership) would dictate.
The platform where games get sold and re-sold, so that $60 to the publisher = 3-4 owners and multiple 100’s of hours of gameplay, will not fare as well, I would think.

What kind of crap is Sony trying to pull by not revealing the built-in drive size? None of the pics in the presentation show the Eye either. Comparing the prices doesn’t make sense.

Drive size, or there is no price comparison. “Built In” PS4 says. People are pre-ordering based on that?

Oh, it’s rampant. Inside Tom’s head anyway.
There was a day when tech journalists (yikes, I don’t really think that title applies here, but..)would write things like “A guide to Office on Windows 8 and RT – Two steps to determining if your tablet has RT and/or Office”. Of course it would a long piece of fluff saying, in a rambly, repetitious way, that you should read the manufacturers specs, but still, considerably more useful than Tom’s tripe.

People keep saying the hardware is nearly identical. That’s like saying souped up and stock versions of the same auto are nearly identical. There is a lot of SOC (system on a chip) sauce in these two making them nothing like identical.

Not a gaming device. Hmm. So, PC gamers are not real gamers because their rigs can burn through any sort of task, work or play or entertainment, that you throw at it? Microsoft first party games will be enough to prove you wrong, but it’s mostly up to other publishers anyway. My guess is they won’t be dumb enough to spurn the raw power and integration like you.

The article and 99% of the comments here are inane. Typical Tom.
