So that means that for some people the Windows 8 experience will be more annoying. Not all users, but more than most Microsoft fanboys are capable of admitting.

I was just going to post the same thing. Participating in a 5k/10k event not only helps raise public awareness, but it usually raises a fair amount of money. In many cases, businesses will donate additional amounts, sometimes matching the donations of the participants, sometimes much more.

I get some outdoor exercise, time with family and friends, and a nice (wicking) t-shirt, and a worthy cause gets some much-needed money. Seems like a win-win to me.

He isn’t missing anything. You are deliberately ignoring the DESKTOP qualifier in his statement.

Windows RT can run 3rd party MODERN apps. It cannot run any 3rd party DESKTOP apps (of which there are hundreds of thousands to choose from).
