I really dig the tone, wish the flag were fully extended, but what can ya do about that. Dig the reflections in the glass, look at those clouds. I might add a little more clarity to the image.

Love the frame and the detail in this image, but the flare has to go. I also wish there was a little more information in the shadows.

She looks like a deer in headlights. The expression doesn’t quite work, you’ve got a bit of a hotspot on the left part of her face (her right, our left) that’s an easy fix in post. I don’t know how I feel about such a tight composition. We’re chopping a lot of her head off, but I’m not so mad about that. I love all the colors though.

love the processing on this one. I would have experimented with a longer shutter just to see what the movement would have looked like. This one isn’t quite fast enough actually.

Those things are terrifying. Only 50mm! I know that’s a bit tighter on that body, but that’s still to close for me! Look at that things mouth! Terrifyinggggg.

Attendance down, prices up, revenue stays constant. Those numbers (which accuracy is up for debate) are deceptive. Less people are going to the movies that is a fact. Bigger movies are doing the heavy lifting. Nothing about my prognosis is proved wrong by those numbers.
Arthouse cinemas have been dropping like flies.

LOVED HAYWIRE! Basic nuts and bolts B movie. Knew what it was trying to be and didn’t bother aspiring to be more. There’s a little beauty in that. I felt Soderbergh was winking at the audience the whole time. That is what makes him such a great filmmaker. He plays in all these different genres and film types.

You’re vastly overstating how much people care about that. I’m a big fan of the IMAX format, I love the cinema, but my tastes do not represent the whole in the slightest. Even I’m coming around. I opted to watch “To the Wonder” on my iPad… I was disgusted with myself, but you know what, it was 7 bucks and I watched it from the comfort of my bed. It looked beautiful and sounded good enough in my headphones. It matters less and less.
People are growing up watching videos on laptop screens, iPad screens, and large flat screen TV. They’re getting accustomed to these new presentation mediums. No one rationalizes the cost like you do. People are fine with their $1500-$2000 dollar 50" 1080p flat screen and basic surround sound kit. Joe schmoe doesn’t care about the intricacies of the theater projection setup. It breaks my heart, but it’s true. Cinema’s death was marked the second TV was established. Only a matter of time. Technology is the great disrupter.

This viewing mentality is part of the problem and it’s not your fault. I totally understand.
I used to go to the movies every friday growing up. 7.50 a ticket, it was a no brainer. Now tickets are 14-14.50 on average and 17 for 3D. All of a sudden I have to think about it, now I’m much more cautious with how I spend my money.
Digital distribution will solve this issue. Theaters, before the die out (which will happen), will be relegated to only the largest of films. All these smaller films will live on your other screens. Indie filmmakers and advertisers will prosper like never before. That world is probably 10 years out though.

Love the focus and the expression, but I do think the processing is unusually rough for this image.

A lot of black and white this week. I’m a bit late to this week’s party but here it goes. Been trying some new processing options.
