Lol looks like all their money went into sponsoring the Olympics rather than into industrial design of the actual product.

Perception of value is a fluid concept depending on who you are and how much money you have. If you don’t think its worth the price they’re asking – don’t buy it, that goes for any tech manufacturer’s products.

“Needs” is not a word that goes with tablets. There is no need for tablets – there is nothing you can do on a tablet you can’t already do on existing devices – they are simply an extra device borne of our generation of internet browsing and tweeting. The mere fact you own a tablet makes you a hipster..

I think it would be INCREDIBLY difficult to design such a device with the current technology. The current machines have to take some blood to test – So without strips the machine would have to find a way of cleaning its delicate sensors 100% clean every time of blood that I assume clots quite quickly. (I assume you continue using the same machine for years). So you would need to give a cleaning fluid of some kind and have some way of disposing of it..
A real technological achievement would be to accurately calculate someones blood sugar without taking any blood.

Science Fiction now a reality? I doubt when George Lucas was dreaming up the Star Wars light sabre he was imagining a clear plastic tube with a glorified torch stuck on the end

Well exactly – the modern ‘techhy geeks’ will always find a way but the key thing is pushing them out of the reach of the average internet user..

On the other hand the reason why its so easy to dload these files is because so many people are on each torrent. TPB acted as a central well-known public hub to well-trodden torrents. With the largest perveyor of these torrent closed down you’ll get much lower seed numbers on each torrent – making them less effective, more niche..
Granted this won’t kill torrents its certainly pushing things more underground
