You may be better of buying yourself a dedicated device like the Apple TV, Roku, etc… I really liked the Xbox One when they first showed it to public but it really seems like a very hard sell to me… Less poweful, DRM’d, can’t freely use used games and yet 20% more expensive.
One can argue that sure, the Software will be a bit better but the same is true for the current generation of consoles and yet, the PS3 is the most used Netflix device now a days. While Microsoft has an edge on software design, Sony is more than good enough, and its also building a comparable cloud services portfolio with the added benefit of support from one of the biggest media and entertainment empires, Sony Pictures/Entertainment.
So, even if priced similarly, the PS4 is competent enough to go head to head with the One with its still gimmicky full body remote control.
Its not been about it been colorful, I mean, there are colorful stuff that does not “cute”, it looks modern and fresh and everything but it just too girly for my taste, my wife will love it however, that’s for sure.
