That’s curious. Is that because there’s no central listing site like craigslist (not that I’ll know of it)?

So just because someone has failed before, nobody ever should try to do it again? While I understand that this is competition for you, you’d be naive to say that the NYC rental market is not broken. Good luck to you, but for the sake of humanity in general, I hope these guys make it really big.
Tip: Join these guys. Be a part of the change! :)

For tech startups, as much as I hate to admit it, the Bay Area cannot be beat. New York is still getting there, hopefully it will because I love the area much more than the SF.

I thought the story was gonna go like, “Turns out the French couple did live there, once upon a time, but died 20 years ago…”
Still, that’s batshit crazy!

I hope they end up adding room shares as well. That is another area that CL is such a mess in!

I had the chance to move to NYC a year ago for a job, and while I didn’t end up moving (sadly), I remember scouring craigslist for apartments. It was absolutely the worst possible experience, just dead ends, impossibly fake apartments everywhere. My eventual destination, San Francisco, is almost no better. But just about. I hope these guys do make it big, and expand into the Bay Area. This is exactly what is needed for apartment hunters!

At this point, there’s not a whole lot of difference between them. I use Dropbox because I used it since they came out, and my drive is 50GB big. GDrive doesn’t give me that much, and I’ve never bothered with SkyDrive. I like Dropbox’s simple UI, and the automatic photo uploads are the one feature I absolutely love. I think Drive uploads it to your G+ account, which I don’t want to do (I know its private until you set it to be public). I’d rather have it on a socially disconnected storage place.
Honestly, at this point, its just what works better for you.

Texting in the US is definitely expensive. Since my phone bills have always been paid for (company perks!), I’ve always had unlimited texting, and hence I use it a lot. But it is definitely expensive.

I had the same 40Mbps connection in Colorado Springs for $39/mo (internet only, no bundle). Didn’t even have to pull any strings, walked up to the counter at the Chapel Hills Mall. Maybe you should check out if they have any promos?
I really liked them, never had any problems.
