Yeah but the iPhone 4 still costs upward of $400 AUD outright. Which is why the only option for low end buyers is WinPhone8.
Look at the Nokia Lumia 520/620/720. All under $300 AUD outright. Perform smooth iOS devices.

I personally don’t like messing with smartphones because at the end of the day your phone is very important. I need to make sure I am available and reachable at all times. Imagine missing a job interview because you were installing a custom ROM on your phone. This actually happened to my friend. Luckily the interviewer called him again a bit later but it was a close shave.
The iPhone works really well without the need to mess around. And if something does mess up (let’s say the jailbreak screwed up) then using iCloud I can get my phone to a mirror image of its previous self. Same thing if I have warranty issues etc.
All the hacking stuff, I leave to my desktop PC. If I stuff up my PC, then it’s ok. I’ll fix it when I get some time.

I can’t wait to see a Pixel in person.
So I can point and laugh at the user.

I find it amazing that “swipe to spotlight” is the only example Android users can give.
And to add, swipe to spotlight pauses momentarily the first time you use it. After that, it’s perfectly smooth.

Start with iOS. If the app is good you’ll be very rich. Then focus on Android.

Well this isn’t hard. Where would we be without the iPhone?
1) You would still have phones locked down by carriers and filled with OEM/Carrier bloatware
2) You would still have phones that struggle to be responsive and fast
3) You would struggle to get a single day of your phone
4) You would not receive any new features or updates for your phone for free
5) You would have bulky phones that didn’t fit in your pocket
6) You would have OEM’s jamming every possible feature into a phone for marketing purposes and not thinking about usability and ease of use.
7) They would still use outdated notions like removable battery and SD cards.
8) You would still have phones with ugly Windows 95 UI…
Oh wait…

I remember a fanboy fight with a developer on some app (3DMark?). Some guy wouldn’t believe his Note 2 has a shittier GPU than a HTC One X and resorted to calling the developer biased to Samsung’s. Pissed off the developer who basically told him his device was shit.

But again, people are not buying Android phones. They are buying Galaxy phones. One day Samsung might completely fork Android however it will be able to run Android apps. It will be easy for developers to make apps for the most popular android phone and ignore the rest. As for consumer? Most won’t even notice.

But what if one day they fork Android and launch their own App Store. They will be too big to take down then and it will demolish Android.

Too bad most features don’t actually work because they require good lighting (like the ad). I was at a party last night and my friend tried to do the same thing while eating. It was too dark unfortunately.
