Yes, but Apple didn’t have the iPhone then nor was the mobile industry as robust. Patent litigation is expensive – Apple has the money to play now.

Maybe Google has a license for stock Android?

Did they find infringement in the phone designs? Or is this precautionary while the ITC investigates to see if the order was upheld?

I think it’s more ignorance about patent law. Which to be honest is understandable since the system doesn’t make much sense unless you either practice patent law or are a patent-holder.

You could’ve saved a lot of typing and said “everyone I know who doesn’t own an iPhone is miserable about it.”

This is what happens when Apple successfully defends their patent in court.

It’s not Apple’s fault.

It’s the ITC’s for holding up the patent and HTC for failing to license or find an acceptable work-around.

Even US Customs is merely following the law as stated.

Because it’s more cost-effective for HTC to not fight the patent than it would be to fight it?

Can’t blame Apple for following current patent laws.

Blame the system, not the players. The current patent system is insufficient for the modern computing industry.

I don’t think they would’ve disappeared – they would’ve been absorbed by someone.

Or…you know…figure out how Barnes and Noble, Best Buy, etc. do it?
