That’s the point. These photos are intentionally misleading, which is why we are seeing things like vents, close up of what might be the PS Eye, underside of controller, etc…

What type of Gmail label controls are you looking for? Outlook has labels (which MS calls Categories). The only real difference from what I can tell is lack of color coding.

This update is for Outlook.com only. The Messaging app in Win8 will get the update at some point, but you might have to wait for the 8.1 update in October…

Why would they do this? They own Skype, which has text, audio, and video chat. Skype is the product that will be integrated into MS products, not a competitors. Skype is more widely used than gTalk anyway.

Outlook.com uses Exchange ActiveSync, which is a better solution than IMAP. The only downside of EAS is that it is not supported by as many email clients.
Microsoft has already stated that they will offer IMAP access for Outlook.com in the future, but there’s no timeline on this.

I’m conflicted on this one… On one hand, I fully support more transparency with Government data and making this data available in common formats for use by others. On the other hand, I don’t think government data should be stored in “open” formats. There are security benefits to using proprietary formats and systems.

Sony’s VAIO laptops usually have good industrial designs and excellent build quality — two strengths of the company. They are probably the most stylish of PC laptops. They’ve always been premium priced though, so it’s nice to see Sony getting more competitive on pricing.

Forcing us to use Creative Cloud is a big FU to all of the independent designers who made Adobe what they are today. $50/mo ($600/yr) is a lot of money for an individual designer/developer.

Actually, a U.S. Citizen cannot be tried as an enemy combatant. This charge is only for foreign citizens.

Like it or not, he is a U.S. Citizen. As a U.S. Citizen, he legally cannot be charged as an enemy combatant. That is a charge which can only be made against foreign citizens.

It would be insane if they actually annouced the charges in a Tweet. They didn’t. The Tweet was was just informational. The charges were announced in a public statement, but they were officially announced first in a courtroom.

Legally they have to say “allegedly”, even when there is significant evidence against them. It is in the courtroom where those allegations are proven. I doubt there will be any problems proving his guilt, so relax.

The not reading Miranda Rights is a special exception, but it only lasts for a limited time. He will still be read his Miranda Rights, as required by law for U.S. Citizens (which he is). The purpose of the “public safety exception” is to allow you to question/interrogate a suspect right away in situations of national security.

Whether we like it or not, he is a U.S. Citizen, and that means he is afforded the same right to a fair trial as all U.S. Citizens. Those fear mongering Senators are actually powerless to strip his rights away.

This article failed to mention WHY he’s being charged as a civilian and not an enemy combatant. Dzhokhar is a (naturalized) American Citizen, and as such, cannot legally be charged as an enemy combatant. The classification of “enemy combatant” generally applies only to a citizen of a country with which the U.S. is at war with, or who is a member of the armed forces of that enemy state.
