I would also recommend a fresh install. I had the exact same problem on my own computer.
That sucks you are getting registration errors, though. Not sure how to fix that.

I’ve actually never watched those. Still, this is not presented as personal preference of the writer, but rather a command to the reader.

    It’s all about the delivery.

I was a little bit ranty, sorry.
I do have a problem with this format though.
I’m glad they’re trying something new with their articles, but this is really just an online version of a smartphone sales associate telling a clueless customer what phone they should get.

That’s not why I come to the internet. I research and read articles to make my own decisions.

This is the exact same path I went down. It’s that last question that dictates this result entirely. Remove that and I wouldn’t have any argument with this survey.

I was a little frustrated in my post, so sorry if I came off as ranty.

    My real problem is this:

What the survey is really saying is that for most users, the Android version is the one to buy. I have no problem with that. In most cases it is.

But shoving that into a questionnaire, without even revealing the purpose of the questionnaire until the end, feels obnoxious and like I said above, patronizing.

I think this sums up my feelings on this well: this survey made me feel like I was an unknowledge consumer. The kind who doesn’t put in the time to tell one phone from another or even care. The kind that needs to be led by the hand by the nearest sales associate at BestBuy. And that kind of consumer is fine. Nobody has to be.

As somebody used to doing my own research and making my own decisions, though, this ended up coming off as really obnoxious.

That makes sense. My problem with this questionnaire is that it makes it seem as if you are trying to gather feedback, and then, a little patronizingly, tell me which phone to buy. It left a really bad taste in my mouth.

Especially since I am interested in the phone. The only question that I answered that could have resulted in the suggestion I got, which was “You should get the Android version”, is that I might want one in a different color. Which is bullcrap.

What is with this bullcrap survey? I took it being legitimately interested in this phone, and answered questions as if I wanted the phone.

“You should get the android version.”
    How patronizing.

Does the answer hinge on whether or not I want it in a color other than grey?
This is honestly the first time I’ve gotten frustrated with The Verge. Really.
In a site for tech enthusiasts, please let us compare the strengths of the phones for what they are, side by side, and let us make that decision for ourselves.

Oh Dear… I forgot that’s what it was called. How…?
