I’m not saying you can’t love Google Music, it just strikes me as a weird choice for an example of a Metro app. But if you have a lot of Metro concept, hopefully they come to fruition someday.

And honestly, I just don’t know what you mean by:

The desktop is going to get a flatter UI to make it look a little more Metro-ey. But if you think about it, there’s no point in devoting way too much time revamping the desktop if they’re trying to get people to move away from the desktop and spend much more time in Metro.

I much rather they spend that time perfecting Metro as much as they can and just touch up the desktop a little bit.

That aside, I don’t think those users will stick with Windows 7, Microsoft is taking big bet by introducing Metro as much as they have and they have to avoid bad outcry or else they could give Metro a bad rep that would be hard to brush off.

Again, I really do see your point and we’re probably both right… but that’s just something to keep in mind.

Exactly… they had the little arrow that said “click here” pointing towards the start button.

They already said that such problems as the ones @musicssound is referring to are a result of the product not being finished yet although honestly I haven’t experienced any of them myself.

And I think we know for sure many many more apps are coming. Although choosing Google Music as an example strikes me as a weird choice.

Metro still has room for improvement but certainly it’s coming into its own quite nicely.

I really couldn’t tell you about Windows 8 on a MacBook Air but from what you wrote I would guess you’ll enjoy it quite a bit!

Not really true… The Desktop on Windows 8 performs a function… mainly the support of legacy apps on x86/64 and also the more advances features like file management that you wouldn’t want to do on the Metro environment. Is not there as a “fall back” in case something faiils.

Think of it as an advanced button and when you press it all of these things appear. Plus, you don’t really have to use the Desktop.

I see your point, but I believe that for the gigantic user base that Windows has, they went about as far as they could.

Agree… Microsoft better get this right! You are doing the right thing by holding out on buying new hardware because I’d bet we’re going to see some crazy sleek hardware.

Right on point! Quite possibly that’s the main reason Metro feels so natural to me.
I just hope more people see it the way we do and at least try. I have the feeling they’ll get used to it very quickly.
