No, we’ll keep saying stock Android is the best. It’s not 2008 anymore. Google seems to care about the interface these past few releases… more than Apple it seems (I still think iOS is better, but it’s a shame that Android caught up as much as it has, especially when you remember the G1), but we’ll see— I’m sure we’re heading towards big changes to both in the future. TW and Sense are vomit-inducing, and do more harm than good on the whole. Sony’s skin is the best out of all the skins but that really isn’t saying much at all.

For the record, I think Android is currently stark, painfully minimalistic, and boring.

Aesthetics aside, Android’s kitchen sink approach to software features is in my opinion its best quality, since Google’s kitchen sinks are worth their weight in gold, and the selections of third party kitchen sinks of similar quality is only growing. I’d love to see their level of integration of… well, everything really, come to iOS— but it will never happen, I know, because Apple would never trust a third party to integrate anything into iOS. It would likely lead to the situation you find on budget carriers: advertisements integrated into the OS, and assorted bloatware.

Android has a very stark, minimalist and futuristic design. It’s worthy of the name Android. Sci-fi. It fits Google’s image of the high-tech curator of the internet.

While it’s not bad, I don’t think it suits an Apple product. Apple would go for something with high production value, beautifully rendered and textured that matches their products. It doesn’t have to be flat, it has to be new.

Just my 2c.

Jailbreaking is literally breaking out of a jail. The term did not originate from iOS.

Since Android doesn’t run in a jail… you don’t have to break out of one for root priviledges.

My experience is the opposite as everyone else apparently. I have an XPS 12, not a Surface, though.

Basically, Windows 8 works better with a trackpad and keyboard for me, and I’d rate a good set of those far above a touchscreen.

I would only consider the Surface Pro if I’m going to be spending a lot of time lounging, it’s basically the only reason I switch my XPS 12 into tablet mode and use the touchscreen.

I’ve found it a little strange seeing people have other people (I’ve seen more than a few male models/teenage boy as wallpapers around campus, so ’tis not a straight male dude thing).

I find it more than a little odd that people would decorate anything with their sexual preference— arguable their single least unique quality— over their other interests. You would think they’d choose something unique (like the ever-present baby family member wallpapers I see so often on phones)
