Well, I don’t own iPhone as well, because my current phone does everything I need fine. I have 3 years old SE w980 and others would think I’m using outdated dumbphone, but back then I was really exciting for getting it cause of FM transmitter and clamshell design. It’s still such a perfect device for me, yet so many others would totally disagree.
And that’s the problem with your article. I assume you use Sll and as far as I can tell you are pretty happy about it. You were probably super-excited to get it and it does everything you expect it to do. So when all of a sudden someone gives you a phone you never cared about … you will not care about it now. Why would you? There’s no hype, no excitement, you just simply don’t care. It’s just psychology. You can’t be excited about something you don’t care about. So you didn’t see why others like the device because you weren’t that excited and full of skepticism and deep inside still convinced that Samsung’s are the best out there.
People are pretty proud of what they are currently using and the reason why they are using it is because it’s the best for them. Like I’m happy using w980 and fail to be happy about any smartphone, partially because I’m currently using w980 and will argue that I made the right choice getting it. Psychology. I should be convinced that I made the right decision.
And people like iPhone because they are excited to get it, and excited about Apple and there is this huge hype and stuff like that blah blah blah. It’s what people find interesting to them in those devices, cause at the end of the day they are all pretty much the same. Of course it’s boring. For one Siri is a gimmick, for others it’s the best thing out there and revolution. Who knows what it actually is. It’s strictly subjective.
So I think you failed to see what you didn’t want to see. You didn’t care about iPhone 4S, you used the iPhone 4S you don’t care about and in the end decided … that you don’t care about iPhone 4S. I mean… yeah. Sounds about right.
So my point is, it’s all about personal choice and attachment to device, which you clearly didn’t have to this particular phone.
And now people will defend iPhone, because it’s device they chose and are pretty sure that they made the right decision. It’s just soooo subjective.

Looks great. However, it seems to me that you have designed it to look good on this specific wallpaper. So, without changing anything else, change your background to a color that matches that big grey clock. Grey clock on all-grey background. I have a feeling it could be hard to read because of very thin shadows.
That has to be done for this design to be really great and survive all possible wallpapers.
Just suggestion. Looks great anyway! :)

Cool. I usually like mockups because they are different ideas from various people on what’s coming next. So I appreciate your works.
What I like – widget location and idea, though it would definitely look different. But it could work.
But…
My suggestions would be that you really slow things down. Like, sit back and look at your creations and think about them. Do they really look like Apple product? It seems to me that you simply have an idea and you create it, which is okay, but then it is more like a random concept not a mockup of what the next iPhone could be. So I find your two creations more like concepts of a device, that bears the iPhone name. And this is usually trouble with most people who try to mimic Apple hardware. They usually completely miss the point.
You should look at what is rumored for next iPhone. Then look at what Apple has done before with hardware and especially iPhone. And lastly, look at what they are doing now. There is a specific way they are designing things at the moment. For starters – what materials they use? We can’t be sure what will the next iPhone have, but most likely it will be glass or aluminum, or both. So firstly you should create your mockups focusing and glass and aluminum.
Also home button of, supposedly, the next iPhone is already leaked and is still pretty much the same. No capacitive. So leave it.
Then look at the overall form and think about how it would actually feel and work in real life, and does your design decisions make sense? Can it actually be manufactured and how? Where does the antenna go? Just, think more! If you want to make mockup of next iPhone, you should study the past, the present and think of what could be Apple’s next logical move.
And please, over everything, create something that can actually be made… just to give it a more realistic feel. Realistic concepts are indefinitely better cause they could actually work.
Example: You created bigger speakers, because … umm I don’t even know why. But could bigger speakers actually be made and does it make sense? There must be a reason why they are smaller now.
Create a couple of mockups and then look at them all, and throw away… and then create or choose the one that fits reality best. Please! Stun us! At the moment your mockup is okay, but not that exciting because it’s just 100% sure that the next iPhone will be nothing like it.
As a good example:
Personally I think this could totally be Apple. And for a while I wasn’t sure if it is leaked or mockup, because it just matches Apple’s design language in so many ways. And now that… is awesome mockup!
Okay, I hope no offense, great work so far, but i believe you can do even better! Good luck and thank you for sharing! I think it will actually be more fun to think, study and then create something real (:
Take your time and have a nice day!

Yeah I was a bit disappointed with syncing. I think they showed at keynote that you edit a document on one device and it syncs to all devices… which is absolutely not true if working with one iOS device and Mac. There is no syncing whatsoever between them two.
Waiting for new Pages for Mac or something where it would actually work.

I believe he can do it for a year. And I actually believe he will find that live is more interesting without it and nothing will ever be the same again.
I wonder, though, what will happen if he breaks. There will be just so much to catch-up to on the net. Aftermath could be a week of non-stop online activities :|

The point is…
Samsung airs ads, videos and does marketing. Does it affect you in any way that there was sheep in their video?
People criticizing people is not cool and not OK. It would be personal.

Eh, can’t we just let it go already?
Samsung is a successful company making money on variety of products and creating variety oh phones. They may not be the most innovative things, but it’s their way of doing business. And a lot of people buy their devices and are very happy for a variety of reasons. Yes, their last ad features sheep, which is an ad. To get attention. It worked and many actually found it funny. And their marketing is to present that you need to wake-up and check out their phones. Whatever, it’s marketing.
And they do not need to be awakened. S2 was very successful, Nexus is great etc. They are very good at what they are doing. Apple spends a lot of money on R&D and hires great talent and pushes on innovation, but Samsung maybe has different strategy and goals. And it’s actually working really well for them.
So, I mean, really? Half-ass attempts at copying? Average looking phones? Come on, really? What are you implying about people who actually bought and loved Samsung devices?
I’m just tired of this. I use quite a few Apple products and get called fanboy a lot for no reason… and then some Apple users tell bad things about others. There’s just so much hate for a friggin’ peace of plastic/aluminum, geeeez.
About ‘Wake up’. Well, someone actually came up with the idea and was proud, then people participating seemed pretty happy and maybe got paid, and it was something unordinary and therefore entertainment for by-passers. Marketing.
I’m an Apple user, but I don’t see why I should hate on Samsung or any other company. It’s still people working there and trying their best to make money.
