Well, isn’t Mozilla trying to win over the lower end and emerging markets with Firefox OS? I don’t think it’ll be going head to head with iOS, Android (at least the high end phones), or Windows Phone for many consumers.
As for Ubuntu, I’d say the only thing they have going for them is having a full desktop OS on a phone. This’ll appeal to some users and not so much to others.
The only way we’re going to see how this plays out is to just wait. Only time will tell.
