University student, bibliophile, technology enthusiast. Any day I can sleep late, listen to Bob Dylan, drink espresso and read a book on my Kindle is just perfect. I'm into Breaking Bad, anything directed by Kubrick or Kurosawa, literally anything written by Philip K. Dick and most things written by Roger Zelazny or Neal Stephenson. I'm currently working on my Japanese, and my next project is going to be a programming language, maybe Python. Politically, I'm pretty left-leaning. I like Apple products, but my current phone is an Android. I play a lot of video games, either on my dual-boot MacBook or my PS3. I also write a fair bit, it's kind of a hobby.

I’d say the S4. It has a larger screen and a more pleasing profile. It’s also more likely to receive updates.
Sorry to hear Android has been that taxing for you. I came from a cheap phone called the HTC Desire C, and while it could’ve been better, I appreciated the flexibility Android offered me. Now I have a Nexus 4, and I’m really pleased with it.

If you can’t appreciate the S4, even a little bit, you are either spoiled or delusional. It’s a good phone- maybe not as good as the iPhone 5, One, Q10, or 920 depending on the user- but still really, really great. If I didn’t have a Nexus 4, I’d definitely choose the S4 over the One, but I could also respect someone’s decision to go the opposite way.

True. I think the better question is whether a future version of the Apple TV could threaten the Xbox.
It’s Microsoft’s game to lose. The Xbox is far more built out than the Apple TV at this point.

Microsoft couldn’t afford* to have their initial batch of Xbox Ones melt. Last time that happened, it cost them over a billion dollars to replace the defective 360s, and tarnished their premier brand.
*Of course they could afford it, but I doubt they’d want to relive that particular moment of Xbox history. And their shareholders would be mad.

In an alternate reality, it’s the Xbox 920 and the PlayStation Z10.

Because they’re important, and because they’re long overdue. If I were a normal consumer looking to buy a phone, I wouldn’t wait for the fall so Microsoft can (maybe) update their spec. Gaining marketshare is hard, and requires hard work. That’s why Google updated Chrome so frequently, and that’s why marketshare followed.
I think we can all agree a Nokia with a 1080 screen would be pretty damn neat, and I’m sure Nokia would love to build it ASAP. And I have a hard time believing Microsoft was blindsided by people asking for a notification center and/or hasn’t been working one, or won’t build one.

I normally steer clear of the “core gamer” line, but this time, I think it fits. Sony seems to be going all out on games, while Microsoft wants to take on the Apple and Steam with its box.

A full list of launch titles will do little for me.
Remember the early titles for the 360? Perfect Dark, Kameo, Chromehounds…? They had little to do with the 360 as we know it now.

I guess you could say Path is headed down a bad road.

The fact that you can choose your own keyboard (SwiftKey is much better than any operating system’s stock keyboard) and the share menu.
