Was soo looking forward to getting one, but with that expensive price tag and the fact its almost been a year since this thing was announced, I do not see the appeal of it anymore.

Just because they are going the ‘modern’ and ‘flat’ design route doesn’t necessarily mean they are involved in a particular movement against serifs.

It annoys me when people associate minimalist/flat design with Metro and automatically treats it as some sort of design standard or ‘rule’ that these designs are obliged to follow. Aside from a usability standpoint, using serifs is their own interpretation of what their site should look like, they want to differentiate themselves, sure Metro looks nice, I have nothing against sites want to look Metro, but it isn’t the Holy Grail of user interfaces.
