If alternative companies can’t break through while HTC is flailing then maybe these mystery companies you’re referring to aren’t putting in the work at positioning themselves.

Regardless of how it feels, the plentiful accessories from Samsung MORE than cover that.

I agree with everything you said This looks great in its current implementation and I can’t wait to see how it advances!

I’ve had custom ROMs since JF, but when ICS hit, I’ve been sticking with stock for awhile.

You could just install the Play Store 4.0.2.6 apk just like any app if you’re tired of waiting.

That’s weird in regards to AirDroid. It hasn’t failed me through all my file transfers (custom roms, music, photos) between my MBP and GSIII over the last few months.

Think I’ll do the same as well. I tried reading this last summer and read less than half of the book.

WP devices and iPhones are way more secure and reliable option compared to Android products.
Every OS has vulnerabilities. In what capacity is either WP or iPhone more “reliable”? Phones from all three OSes:
-handle calls
-send texts
-send emails
-surf the web
-take pictures
-create calendar events
-provide variety of methods to listen to music
-download apps
-set alarms
-have a decent range of third party accessories
-support hands free bluetooth
-make some person, whom you have no affiliation with, millions of dollars
-enhance your respective lifestyle

Ahh appreciate the reply. Each time I see the HTC One, I really how it completely outclasses anything Samsung has done in regards to smartphones. I know you’re using a great product.

Minor issue, isn’t the Samsung browser (say on the GSIII) one in the same as the AOSP browser? I’ve long been rooted custom rom’d so I really can’t recall.

Light Flow really is a good app though. With as many notifications and pop ups that we get these days it helps knowing when you can silently ignore them or passively glance and see it’s something you should check further into. The app helps a lot depending on your use case, say you need the phone on silent for prolonged periods. Different strokes of course but I sure am glad to use it.

Well, I have to agree with mjyatess. Several of the Verge editors have made comments about how The Verge isn’t a “tech” site. I think it’s come up in the podcasts a few times although I can not recall this being brought up in article form. Here’s an interview Josh did with Forbes expressing the same sentiment. I recall another moment where someone questioned the Verge earlier this year because they might be spreading themselves too thin which got a response from a Verge editor too.
