I miss the long vergecasts that were fun and conversational. Now I feel that they are quite short and pretty business-oriented. I guess it’s a personal preference.

It is not what Apple does at WWDC. In 2012 they announced the MacBook Pro Retina 15". In 2010, they announced the iphone 4. They will definitely announce some new hardware at this years WWDC. These developer conferences are increasingly in the public eye, so most companies take advantage of that.

I think Google made a big mistake by not updating the Nexus 7 and getting people interested in Android excited about tablets again; with the competition from the iPad Mini and Surface, this is a crucial time for Google’s tablet future.
