I made the transition to pc last september. It is easier. especially with Steam.
About Microsoft, that would be awesome, but imposible for Microsoft to do, because Xbox is such a profitable part of the company.

I think the RT is a great option for those who only watch videos and web-surf. MS should just make a file explorer with the design from the Skydrive app and remove the desktop. I think it’s a very reasonable option to consider buying. My mom doesn’t need legacy apps and a bulky heavy Win8 Pro device. She just wants to surf the web and watch movies.
