About Speedbird
My name is Matthew, I'm 22 years old and currently in my final year of Transport Design at Coventry University, where I am exploring the idea of integrating sensitive transport systems into historic towns. I am a complete tech nut and love having and knowing about the latest gadgets and gizmos out there.
I am currently a free lance automotive photographer, specialising in classic cars - however I also enjoy shooting landscapes and architectural subjects. I also enjoy listening to music (alternative, folk, blues, jazz & hip hop) and watching Woody Allen movies.

Most aerospace companies are investing in more economical engines and lighter fuselage materials to save weight and fuel, as well as upping the capacity of their aeroplanes so that fewer are needed in the skies. Scandinavian Airlines are also practicing “green approach” whereby the plane continually descends from its cruising height to the runway, requiring less need for engine thrusters resulting in less noise, fuel saving and ultimately less emissions. A fully electric aeroplane is not very realistic, as the power needed for take off, the weight of the craft and the distance needed to travel is just too extreme. I think the future of commercial air travel would lie in a hybrid aircraft, which would use kerosene to take off and land, and possibly switch to an electric power source when cruising at altitude. But then, what do I know…?

Running an iPhone 4 with iOS 6, I was looking forward to something like this… I’ve already been using Google Voice as a replacement for Siri, now I can have live updates on what’s going on around me too. I suppose the decent thing would be to switch to Android but after using an iPhone for four years I’m kinda hooked into the system!
