Time Warner should spend some of that money on its services. They could certainly use it.

Unlocked cell phones aren’t and haven’t been wildly successful in the US. This was especially true in 2008/2009.

You don’t know what you’re talking about.
“Palm Corp sold off Palm OS Garnet to Access Corp of Japan”
- PalmSource, after Palm’s split into PalmSource and palmOne, was acquired by Access in 2005. This was the same year palmOne renamed itself Palm and acquired a license to Garnet’s source code from Access.
“and then thwarted pretty much any attempt at modernizing, including true multi-tasking”
- Your basis for this is what?
“Then when Access announces their development of linux based Palm OS 2.0 by Access”
- “Palm OS 2” was launched in 1997
- PalmSource announced its intention to build a version of Palm OS based on Linux in 2004, which was before Access acquired PalmSource.
- In 2006, Access announced the Access Linux Platform.
“Palm Corp throws a fit and announces it’s own new Linux based OS which came in the form of Web OS”
- No company has ever shipped a device running ALP (or Cobalt).
- Palm was in desperate need of a new platform. webOS was not a retaliatory move to ALP; webOS was a retaliatory move to iOS and Android
- Palm didn’t start talking publicly about its next-generation platform until 2008.
- webOS wasn’t announced until 2009

PalmSource was acquired by Access in 2005. Also in 2005, palmOne purchased PalmSource’s share of the Palm trademark and renamed itself Palm.

It’s a nod to the Pro market, which has been unloved by Apple lately. The Mac Pro hasn’t received a significant update in a long time.
