My fulltime job is to write for a site that's heavily focused on mobile. In my free time I like to get as far away from the internet as possible. Luckily for me, my crew in Helsinki feels the same way.

Firefox + Easy YouTube Downloader + DownThemAll = Grabbing the 720p mp4 of this show at 1.94 MB/s
I could grab the 1080p version, but … that’s not necessary me thinks.
Anyway, can’t wait to watch this! Love this show!

These days the right machine means the machine with the best screen, and most everyone is choosing to stick to a budget display just so they can bump up the build quality a bit or go with an aluminum body. If I see another 15 inch laptop pushing 1366 × 768, I’m going to scream!

So … if a 1080p torrent of a movie is around 5 GB, and 8K has 16x more details, assuming that would mean 16x the filesize, that would mean 80 GB per movie. Holy. Shit.

“Press volume up and down at the same time to jot down a quick note.”
Sooo I have to use a phone two handed to hit two buttons at once to take a “quick” note? How many users are going to discover that feature without having to consult their user manual?

Looks like Windows Phone, which is great for older people scared of complex user interfaces. Glad to see Android skins that actually make Android useful instead of making a skin just for the sake of differentiation.

Apologies for the double comment, but one more question: It’s hard to tell from the photos and video, but does this thing not have any front facing button, instead relying on on-screen buttons like the Galaxy Nexus?

Here in Europe, the whole HD Voice thing has been a nightmare. It only works on HD Voice enabled handsets, which are limited in number. But forget that for a second, let’s assume everything on the market is HD Voice compatible. Right now you can only make HD Voice calls to other people on the same network. There’s no interoperability between operators, even if they’re in the same country!

That first link throws up a 404, and that second link doesn’t run through all the S Pen enabled apps on the Note. Thanks though. I’m not even a Note owner, just a fan of the product. Remember this video? http://youtu.be/FvH6vbhOs6Y
I’d basically want to see a Verge version of that with all the slick edits you guys are known for.

Watched this a few hours ago during breakfast. It reminds me of a team meeting where someone just reads a massive 100 slide PowerPoint presentation out loud. This feature, that feature, and this feature, and don’t forget that! I’m a bit disappointed to be honest, mainly due to the PenTile display and the rather boring design. Wish it was more … boxy.
