I want to work on projects that have a purpose beyond making money. I want to change an industry by helping consumers make more informed buying decisions. Because marketers shouldn't be bothering you. Instead they should be engaging with you, getting personal with you, genuinely caring about you.
I follow trends. I consume media. I stick up for an open internet. Not unlike you, but I study it too.

If there was an antenna photoshopped on the back I would have believed it was a review of a remote controlled car and I would have been excited to buy it.

Sure, but that’s a different discussion- my point was that Google would not be putting ads on the glasses.

The glasses won’t have ads, and its a misconception that Google wants to monetize everything.. Yes they are technically an advertising company but they have plenty of free services and experimental products that are ad free: image search, news, drive/docs to name a few.

You’ve never heard of Augmented reality? Think about it- Google has a really compelling maps (and navigation) product, mix this in with the technology which has already existed for several years within the Google Goggles app (foreign language translation, barcode scanning, logo/mark recognition) not to mention the Google+ integration which is inevitable. The possibilities are endless.

Yeah except nothing about gamecenter was social- its impossible to find your friends,

Obvious features are obvious.. They’ve been hinting at this for months, in fact- the leaderboard system is already built into G+ and there are so many ways this will help the android/g+ ecosystems.. Not to mention the bar was set pretty damn low with Gamecenter so throw in a couple unique features (social media integration is enough) and you have a killer piece to the puzzle all worked out.
