It is hurting the end user experience, which as a consumer I care about far more than any companies bottom line.

well, you can run all iPhone apps on iPad, including Google Maps. Native iPad versions are far superior though.

There’s not really any need for Apple to. iOS users update at an astonishing rate.

It may seem like an unreasonable comparison, but if you’re comparing the OS’s as a whole then Apple’s limited product lineup is a massive boon in user experience, neglecting the price differences. It’s precisely because Android is fragmented upon many different devices, with different versions, skins and form factors that these arguments are made. The approach brings both huge advantages and problems to the platform as a whole.

As interesting as it would be, I don’t see Apple’s UI design language changing that drastically. Besides, their are fundamental differences between Android and iOS UI, such as Android’s Launcher / Home screen with widgets and app shortcuts, with an app drawer as a secondary screen vs iOS’s springboard.
In any case, with manufacturer skins most people on Android will just be using TouchWiz anyway.

The hardware? As in pure processing limitations of the ARM SoC, or something else? If you have a link I’d be quite interested.

Project Might or Mighty?
Looks interesting, the iPad still has much unrealised potential when it comes to styli.

They haven’t even upgraded the Mac Pro in the last three years. As Apocalyptic0n3 says, it’s a workstation, not a desktop. It far exceeds the needs of a college gaming desktop (and would certainly perform worse for those tasks than a conventional gaming box anyway).
So no, they aren’t going to drop the price anytime soon, by any significant amount. They have said they will upgrade it this year, but the iMac and Mac mini remain the closest Apple have to a desktop computer.
