Yeah I got this. Wondering what’s so premium about their slow speeds.

I am generally of the capitalist / survival of the fittest mindset. You can’t be responsible for everyone that isn’t as smart as you, otherwise you get a nanny state or you fail to be accountable to your own well-being. But when I read:

“I think I’m getting to the place where I just don’t care, it just doesn’t matter as much as it did in the past. I don’t know if it’s because I’m getting older, or what. I also know that my time is running out, and I just don’t have a lot of time to get myself prepared and get ready for my future…”

…and this guy is taking advantage of her… I feel freaking sick. Doesn’t this guy have a mother? This could be anyone’s mom or teacher or nice lady down the street. Is he lacking empathy or mirror neurons? What level of psychopathy is this? Because being able to rationalize away actions and lack empathy is indicative of that.

Even these financial / investment / wall street scheisters, they have that diffusion of responsibility. They aren’t dealing one-on-one with the person they’re pillaging. They’ve got that depersonalization on their side.

From my own experience of family members who’ve died and relationships I’ve lost, I’m strongly familiar with the “it just doesn’t matter anymore” feeling. These sharks pray on people at their weakest. It’s low-hanging fruit, picking on people that aren’t their own size. Rabbit punches. It’s not too different from swiping a purse while the old lady is distracted. “That’s life. She should’ve paid more attention.” Vomit.

Sell those people ice cream to cry into, don’t knowingly destroy their future.
